In 2023, Wuhan Hanmero Building Materials Co., Ltd. invested in the construction of a new gypsum calcination production line project. The factory is located in Macheng City, Hubei Province, and construction commenced in March 2023. The project is divided into two phases with a total investment of one hundred million yuan, covering an area of 300 acres. It includes raw material workshops, production workshops, and finished product workshops. Production is scheduled to begin in October 2023, with an annual output of desulfurized gypsum powder expected to reach 500,000 tons after production.

This project marks a significant step for Hanmero in its strategic layout within the gypsum industry chain. The factory is introducing advanced international equipment and calcination processes to transform industrial solid waste from power plants into harmless desulfurized gypsum through calcination. The calcined gypsum, as a raw material for gypsum products, will be produced on a large scale, contributing to the production of environmentally friendly and green materials for use in the construction industry. This supports the long-term national goals of "carbon neutrality" and "peak carbon emissions."
